This premier drill and ceremony event is conducted annually in the New York Metro Region. It is open to High School and College level military organizations of all services (e.g. Pershing Rifles, CAP, JROTC, ROTC, Naval Sea Cadets, Arnold Air Society, Service Academies, Police Explorers and foreign equivalents).
The events consist of standard drill, exhibition drill, color guard and more. The opening ceremony includes a pass and review and closing awards ceremonies includes a retreat ceremony and a performance by the U.S. Coast Guard's Silent Drill Team!
The First Annual Q8IDC was held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY on 14 October 2006 and featured the U.S. Army Drill Team "The Old Guard".
